Toilet with integrated bidet: how the wash works
Nozzle, rear and feminine washing, temperature and pressure adjustment, heated seat and warm-air dryer: what happens when you use a smart toilet.

The heart of a toilet with an integrated bidet is the nozzle: a small arm that, when you start the wash, extends from beneath the seat, sprays warm water and then retracts. Everything else, that is the water temperature, the pressure, the position of the spray, the heated seat and the drying, serves to make this action comfortable and personal. Let us look at how it works, step by step.
The nozzle and the washing modes
On most Keliss smart toilets you will find two main modes: the rear wash and the feminine wash, designed for intimate hygiene, with the spray in a different position. Many models add the oscillating wash, in which the nozzle moves back and forth to cover a wider area, and some also the massage wash.
Some models go further. The AussieLux S005 has a smart wash with several modes, including one-touch. The Sanova I7 has a wash enriched with air microbubbles, softer on the skin. Each product page states which modes are available.
If it is the first time you are using an integrated bidet, it is best to start with the lowest temperature and pressure and increase them little by little until you find the right setting. After a few days the routine becomes second nature, and many people find washing with water gentler and more thorough than paper alone.

Water temperature and pressure
The temperature of the washing water is adjusted from the remote control or the side knob. Keliss wall-hung models have instant heating: the water is heated as it flows, without keeping a store of hot water constantly at temperature. The spray pressure and the nozzle position can also be adjusted, so everyone can find the most suitable setting.
On Keliss wall-hung toilets the wall-mounted remote control stores each user's preferences: whoever uses the bathroom recalls their own settings without having to set them again each time. This is useful in families and in shared bathrooms.
The heated seat
The heated seat is useful above all in the colder months. On Keliss bidet seats and wall-hung toilets the temperature can be chosen from four levels, with a safety thermal fuse; on floor-standing models the seat temperature is also adjustable. Many models also have an energy-saving mode, which reduces consumption when the toilet is not in use.
The warm-air dryer
After washing, a stream of warm air dries you without the need for paper, or with much less paper. The air temperature can also be adjusted. On some models, such as the AeroLux 706 and the NeoWash Ultra, the specifications refer to high-speed drying.

The controls: remote control, knob, foot and voice
The functions are operated in different ways depending on the model:
- with the wireless or wall-mounted remote control, which brings all the adjustments together;
- with the side knob or buttons, convenient even for those trying a smart bidet for the first time;
- with the foot sensor, which on many models opens the lid or operates the flush without using your hands;
- with the proximity sensor, which opens and closes the lid as you approach or move away;
- by voice, on the models in the Sanova line.
At night the LED night light, present on many models, lights the bowl with a soft glow: you can find your way without switching on the main light. Keliss wall-hung models also have perimeter ambient lighting.
What happens at the end
At the end of use, on models with automatic flushing the toilet flushes without you having to touch anything; on the others, the button, the remote control or the foot sensor is all you need. The nozzle retracts and, depending on the model, is rinsed or sterilised with UV light before the next use. In the event of a power cut, many models still allow flushing.
